How it works

  1. Export your tree as a GEDCOM file from Ancestry, MyHeritage, FamilySearch-compatible software or any genealogy program. Here's how.
  2. Pick the main person and a chart – number of generations, shape and paper size. You see the result instantly.
  3. Download a PDF and print it at home, at a print shop or as a framed poster.

Questions

Which programs work?

Anything that exports GEDCOM: Ancestry, MyHeritage, Family Tree Maker, RootsMagic, Legacy, Gramps, MacFamilyTree and Swedish programs like Disgen and Holger. Swedish letters (å, ä, ö) work whether the file is saved as UTF-8, ANSI or ANSEL. How to export.

My ancestors were born in America – does it still work?

Yes. Places outside Sweden are counted separately, and the map shows every Swedish parish further back. Most Swedish-American trees reach Sweden within two to four generations. See also all Swedish provinces and their parishes.

How large can I print?

The PDF is vector graphics and stays sharp at any size. For names you can read on the wall: up to 5 generations on Letter, 7 on Tabloid (11×17 in), 8 on an 18×24 in poster, 9 on 24×36 in and 10 on 36×48 in. A4–A0 work too. Eleven and twelve generations fit as well, but the outer names become very small – a striking overview poster rather than one to read name by name. The tool warns you when names get too small.

How do payment and receipts work?

You pay by card, Apple Pay or Link in Stripe's secure checkout. The purchase is sold through Link, Stripe's checkout service, which handles sales tax and emails your receipt. All charts unlock immediately in the browser you bought in, for 30 days.

Can I get a refund?

The charts are delivered immediately, and before you pay we ask you to agree to that, so the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply. If something doesn't work, contact us and we'll fix it or refund you.
